PROTECTION FOR PRECIOUS BUILDINGS AND INSTALLATIONS

The Gol stave church, Hallingdal, reconstructed at the Norwegian Folk Museum at Bygdöy may be the stave church that receives the most visitors. Gol stave church has been built in the mid 1200's; in 1882 the church was dismantled and rebuilt in 1884 at Bygdöy (Oslo) by architect Hansteen. Protestant and Catholic services are held during the summer months. The wooden construction is always endangered, mostly because of the many visitors; since 1996 it is protected by a fixed installation of four IFEX Dominator impulse extinguishing cannons.

THE DOMINATOR IMPULSE CANNON

The IFEX 30 liter Dominator impulse cannon presents the IFEX solution for fixed local application. The cannon is constructed coaxially - with the power chamber located around the water chamber. The principle accommodates a compact construction with high efficiency and performance with respect to shot length, spray pattern, droplet sizes, momentum and flux density at a distance. The cannon is delivered with a rigid carbon steel framework that will be mounted on to a solid foundation to absorb the recoil force. The outlet muzzle cone is adjustable for tuning of shot length and spray pattern. The Dominator cannon can be used for both outside and inside applications.
